A HP enviou-nos para teste o mais recente membro da família de computadores de gama média Pavilion, que já inclui um processador de geração da Intel. Este novo processador, lançado ainda em 2020, é um Core i7-1165G7 com quatro núcleos físicos e oito threads. Este portátil tem uma GPU Iris Xe, a nova geração de gráficos da Intel, que promete mais desempenho que os da geração anterior, e a velocidade de relógio pode chegar até aos 4,7 GHz, em modo Turbo. Mas, spoiler alert’, infelizmente é só no papel, porque, na prática, não é assim tão diferente dos anteriores. Mas já lá iremos. Como o nome indica, este Pavilion tem um ecrã de catorze polegadas, com uma resolução de 1920 x 1080, e uma boa qualidade de imagem; por defeito, tudo o que aparece no Ambiente de Trabalho do Windows parece grande demais, principalmente devido às dimensões do ecrã – nada que uns ajustes ao Windows não resolvam. Carregar por USB? Ainda não Em relação à memória, o Pavilion inclui 16 GB de memória RAM DDR4 e um SSD NVMe com 1 TB. Estes 16 GB são partilhados com o processador gráfico, o que é outro ponto que faz com que este PC não seja um dos mais ágeis que já vimos. Isto acontece porque a memória RAM integrada nas gráficas costuma ser GDDR ou algo semelhante, substancialmente mais rápida. Todos sabemos que ter um processador com memória lenta é como ter um Ferrari com pneus de bicicleta. No que respeita a ligações, o Pavilion tem uma USB Type-C que, inexplicavelmente não é utilizada para o carregamento da bateria, tendo a HP optado por usar uma entrada tradicional para o carregador. Existem também mais duas USB Type-A de cada lado, uma HDMI de tamanho completo, jack de 3,5 mm para os auscultadores e microfone e um leitor de cartões de memória microSD. A qualidade da montagem é a que a HP já nos habituou excelente. As teclas são grandes e o trackpad também. Tudo em nome do conforto de utilização. As saídas do sistema de refrigeração estão na base do monitor, o que liberta as laterais para as entradas. A experiência de utilização é a esperada de uma máquina com estas características. Nas tarefas de trabalho, o processador nota-se e o Pavilion sai-se muito bem; já nas tarefas gráficas, este computador dá perfeitamente para ver vídeos e jogar títulos como Factorio ou Solitário, mas nada mais exigente. Experimentei o Civilization VI e, embora funcione, a taxa de actualização do ecrã é algo lenta, o que torna o jogo uma experiência complicada. Com mais de nove horas de vida de bateria, este Pavilion tem fôlego para trabalhar o dia todo e ainda ver um episódio da sua série favorita, depois do trabalho.
